How can I apply?

Do I have to apply online?

Applying online is faster and more efficient, but if your circumstances make accessing or using the internet difficult, then we’re happy to accommodate. Pop into your local Trade Counter and speak with a Branch Manager, who can help with your application. You can also contact our team on careers@screwfix.com.

I have a learning or physical disability. Can I still apply?

Absolutely. We welcome everyone at Screwfix. If you need any support with your application, just contact the team on careers@screwfix.com – they’ll be more than happy to help.

Can I join via an Apprenticeship?

Currently, our Apprenticeships are only available to existing colleagues. But if you’re interested, we highly encourage you to apply for a position at Screwfix. Once you’re settled, you can discuss career progression with your manager. 

There isn’t a relevant role for me at the moment. Can I still join?

If you have relevant experience for a role but don’t meet the exact requirements, we’d still encourage you to apply. If there aren’t any jobs that suit you, you can create a profile on our talent pool. That way, we can get in touch when the right role comes along.

I have a criminal conviction; can I still apply?

Everyone’s circumstances are different, and we consider applications on a case-by-case basis. In the case of a criminal conviction, we’d encourage you to contact our team on careers@screwfix.com, who can offer further advice. 

Interview

Will you let me know if I’m invited to an interview?

Of course! After your application is submitted, we’ll keep you updated during each stage of the process. If you’re offered an interview, you’ll receive everything you need to know beforehand, including the time, date, location, job description and name of the interviewing manager. We’ll also call you to chat about the opportunity you’ve applied for and answer any questions you might have. 

Will I get feedback from my interview?

Nobody likes waiting; so we aim to let candidates know if they’ve been successful within a week of their interview. And if you’re not success, we’ll give as much constructive feedback as we can.

Other questions

What if I don’t have the right to work in the UK?

Unfortunately, we’re currently unable to help non-UK passport holders get the appropriate visa to work in the UK. Candidates from the EU with a relevant Share Code may be eligible. Please check the UK Government website for further guidance.

Just email careers@screwfix.com, who’ll be happy to help. A response might take a few days but we’ll do our best to answer your query.
