Reporting to the Head of Digital Trading and Merchandising, you will drive & develop the trading strategy for our UK and IE websites ensuring we meet our revenue and digital participation targets. The role will require collaborative and cross functional working to continuously deliver sales and growth through a competitive and customer centric digital trading proposition.

Key responsibilities

  • Through own team and internal resources, tenaciously own & drive the revenue targets for UK and IE
  • Chairing e-commerce trading meetings and ensuring key stakeholders from Planning, Commercial, Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance are influenced, engaged and aligned with the plans
  • Collaborate, engage and influence cross functionally (inc. Commercial, Retail Ops, Trading, Marketing, Digital analytics) to ensure that all campaigns are designed & executed with digital first in mind
  • Regularly measure, challenge and monitor performance against agreed core metrics/plans and or KPIs including revenue, AOV and conversion rate and recommend changes that drive performance
  • Work closely & collaboratively with the Digital Marketing and App team to ensure a fully aligned approach across our ecomm channels
  • Participate in review meetings with senior stakeholders, presenting a compelling narrative on key performance, opportunities, gaps and priorities to influence and drive performance, maximise return on investment and engage our customers
  • Work closely to both support and influence Commercial category teams to understand future product plans and the impact this has on our digital channels
  • Create and implement Digital category plans in line with the commercial strategy agreed with senior stakeholders
  • Lead the Digital trading team to adopt a data first approach to decision making & recommendations leveraging all available analytical tools
  • Continuously review digital trading performance, making recommendations for change to drive improved revenue opportunities
  • Lead & develop a team, conducting regular 1 to 1s and quarterly check ins, engaging through feedback, supported development and agreed performance objectives
  • Actively maintains understanding of the changing market an industry, looking externally at competitors and industry developments to influence change and competitor advantage at Screwfix
  • Actively supports the team engagement plan, working with colleagues and direct reports to drive and promote great engagement within the team

Required skills & experience

  • Strong Ecommerce trading experience
  • Strategic thinker, able to translate strategy into action
  • Strong senior stakeholder management capability, able to influence at senior level
  • Analytical – able to determine key gaps and or opportunities through trend analysis and review
  • Strong team player who uses initiative
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and presentation/story telling skills
  • Experience working with Board and DOF/HOF level
