Key responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of our two-year early careers programme you’ll get a broad range of experience whilst making a real impact to our amazing growth story. Depending on your interests and skills, you could join one of the following areas:
Commercial Team:
- Work closely with buyers and merchandisers to ensure we have the right products at the right price.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers and manage key commercial projects.
- Analyse sales and market trends to drive business decisions.
Digital Team:
- Be part of the forward-thinking team shaping the online shopping experience for millions of customers on one of the most visited website and app platforms in UK retail.
- Work with UX, development, and data experts to optimise our award-winning website and digital platforms.
- Support digital marketing campaigns and learn the latest eCommerce strategies.
- Learn from newly emerging projects at Screwfix, such as our newly formed Retail Media operation
- Get exposure to market-leading ad operations from Google, Meta and our media agency, Dentsu.
Required skills & experience
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for driven and curious individuals who:
- Recently graduated or are looking for a career change into Commercial or Digital.
- Have the drive and ambition to make a difference and progress quickly
- Are analytical thinkers with strong problem-solving skills.
- Have a passion for retail, eCommerce, and customer experience.
- Enjoy working collaboratively and have great communication skills.
- Are eager to learn and develop in a thriving business environment.

Interview
Prior to your interview, we recommend a thorough read of our careers page and even a trip to your local Trade Counter, to learn as much about us as possible. Your interview will consist of competency-based questions, and a chat about your experience, knowledge of Screwfix and the role you’ve applied for. Interviews may be held on the phone or over video chat, followed by a visit to store to meet the team.
Offer
If we think we’re a good match, we’ll make you an official offer. Once you’ve accepted and we’ve completed the pre-employment checks, you’ll receive your shiny new contract.
